JSON and Yahoo! Screencast
Those who know about JSON know about the big productivity gain over of parsing raw XML. In today’s world of AJAX, I think JSON is a disruptive technology. It opens the the world of mashups to so many more people (especially when you couple it with new techniques to get around the browser cross-domain scripting policy). That’s why I think Yahoo’s decision to JSON enable their web services is a big deal.
However, there are a lot of people who just don’t grok JSON (here’s one). I was one of them on the outset. Just with any new technology or technique, sometimes the way it’s introduced to the world can easily cause it to wither away into the long list of unused but interesting tools. So, now that I grok JSON and it’s power, I figure I’d share a short and simple screencast on how web developers can easily access JSON data in their JavaScript.
Enjoy!
