Raise your hand if you’ve made money using WP-Amazon
About a year and a half ago, I thought up WP-Amazon as a way for Wordpress users to be able to easily include links and images of products from Amazon into their blog postings. Basic and simple… that’s what I was going for. Since I released it, I didn’t spend much time beyond bug fixes and simple enhancements. For the most part, the plugin just worked and still does today with Wordpress 2.0. One of the most fascinating things I find about WP-Amazon is the way people are using it to make money. I’ve made a few bucks here and there… not much, just enough to pay for my hosting fees.
I’d love to hear from those of you who have found WP-Amazon helpful in generating a little cash. Also I’d appreciate any feedback on what can be done to make WP-Amazon better. I’m currently working on WP-Amazon 2.0 and it’s got lots of nice enhancements like an Ajax interface and lots of DHTML goodness. I’d love to hear your ideas on what can be improved.

I just my first .99 commission. I love the plugin. WP 2.0 kind of broke it though, it’s a lot more manual cut and paste now, but I still manage.
One day, I’ll be making a donation to you for taking the time to build this little sucker. It’s great.
I also have a link directing people to the plugin.

I love the plugin. When I first started my site, I was just going to write about the books I’ve reading and listening to. The plugin is really nice in that now I can post pictures of the products and let people read further descriptions/reviews and give them a chance to buy, and can get a little money if they buy. Truthfully though, with the (low) amounts of traffic I’m getting and the low click-through rates, I don’t know if all that money for blogging stuff can even cover my hosting fees.
I really appreciate the plug-in though. It’s perfect posting images and links to the books. It works perfect as-is right now. One dream feature would be a way to generate the the required “associates” link without Amazon’s iframe, but as-is the plug-in already exceeds all expectations.
Thank you for creating such a cool plugin,

I love the plugin, but I don’t think I’ve made any money from it

I have been using it for the past little while and find it very cool. I’d like to be able to tell you that I made some money from it, but my site’s only been live a couple weeks, and well, let’s say I’m not breaking any traffic records just yet.
Things I would like to see improved include:
Remove the escape characters on the apostrophes and quote symbols.
The ability to link to a category or search result.
Put the product name in the link title [for SEO reasons mostly].
Looking forward to the 2.0 version…I’m using the old editor while I wait.

I made enough last year to order 7 books with the gift certificate I opted to receive. Totally worth it. Thanks for this awesome plugin!

I must say that blogging with it is really cool.

I’m up to $4 in commission now, all from your plugin accompanied by my book reviews. None came from the sidebar ads, although people sometimes click them.

I like your plugin. I’ve been working with other solutions for my amazon web shop, but I’d been needing something that can work with my blog. Thanks, keep up the great work.

Love the plugin, but no cash made yet.

I’m keeping track of my Amazon associates earnings. I have some banners on my site as well as writing book reviews where I use your plug-in to link to the book reviewed. So far, I’ve made 9 sales, all of them came from clicks that were generated on links created with your plug-in.
I’m eager for the next update! Very valuable tool, for me personally.

Just found your plug-in today.
Big thanks.
A few oddities, it works fine in Opera, but not in firefox (my guess is it is an extention I am running if FF that I haven’t tracked down yet.
As for suggestions, my big request is some sort of word wrap feature so text can run along side the image. This may be possible in WP already, but I haven’t figured out how to do it.
Thanks, Gavin

I just found your plug-in and it works great.
One question; is it possible to put the link in a post and have it function more like an image with word wrap.
Thanks,
Gavin

Found your great plugin through wp-plugins.net. Haven’t made any money yet, but it’s working great. As Trevor have mentioned it, WP 2.0 kinda makes it more on the manual side. But hey, great plugin, thanks a bunch.
Like others, I must say I can’t wait for the next update too.

hello there, very nice plugin, but could you give me a hint, maybe even integrate this into the options of your amazon plugin: I would liek to be able to change how the plugin behaves in terms of text. I would like to integrate an image from amazon with my text surrounding the image, at the moment my text will always display below the image…
any chance to see this done?
