Road to Subic Bay
The Subic Bay Freeport Zone is about a three hour drive northeast from Manila. We took a day trip there and saw many interesting sites along the way.

Subic Bay was the last possession of the US in the Philippines and was returned to the country in 1992 after 12 Filippino senators made the bold decision to reject the extension of the US lease of the facility. The former naval base is now becoming a resort area and industrial zone, and the sex industry in the area has fortunately declined.
